Municipal finances

Brockton's tax rate is high for a municipality our size, and residents feel it every year. The right response isn't cuts. It's optimization: read every line, question every increase, put idle cash to work. That framework produced the 2025 tax rate coming in under inflation and Motion 23-08's ~$149,000 in short-term GIC interest and $1.13M in long-term market-value gains over three years.

Smart growth

Brockton needs new infrastructure. It cannot debt-finance everything. Every capital project deserves the same scrutiny: the arena, the courts, the halls, the roofs. Pro-arena in principle, anti-debt in practice. Grants, funding, partnerships first.

Public safety

Community safety is the backbone of a community. I fully support our OPP, our Fire services, and our paramedic teams: the people who keep this municipality safe every day. That doesn't mean spending goes unchecked. Public safety deserves the same line-by-line scrutiny as any other part of the budget, which is why I sit on the Elmwood Joint Fire Department Board.

Somewhere people can stay, work, and raise families. Every decision at the council table is ultimately about keeping this a place worth calling home.
