Who I am

Lifelong Brockton resident, currently living in Walkerton. Fourth generation on this land, with close ties to the Spitzigs, Wilhelms, Clarks, Fergusons, and more. My father Don served 31 years as a municipal employee; my mother Christine's family ran Wilhelm's Dairy Farm outside Chepstow for generations. Attended Sacred Heart High School in Walkerton, then became the first in my family to attend university: Honours BSc in Computer Science from Brock, followed by a Master's in large-scale optimization.

Why I ran in 2022

I'm not a politician and I don't plan to be one. In October 2022, I put my name on a ballot for the first time. I ran because I care about the community that made me who I am. The one my parents grew up in, the one my mother's family farmed outside Chepstow, the one I came home to serve.

Brockton deserves a councillor who reads every line of the budget, questions where the money is coming from, and looks for savings that don't cut services but optimize how the municipality operates. That's not a slogan. It's what I do for a living.

What one term looks like

Four budgets. Roughly 70 council meetings. Two recorded NO votes on above-inflation tax increases (7.43% in 2023, 6.41% in 2024, against Canadian inflation of 3.9% and 2.4%). One under-inflation tax rate in 2025 from years of pushing for discipline. A YES vote on the 2026 budget after moving the debt-paydown amendment. A refused $13,000 councillor pension. A killed $13,000 spend on court security. A principled "getting to the limit" warning on debt before the next big capital ask.
